Who We Are
At Durham Stallions Baseball, we break the mold by offering a first class baseball development program with access to top-notch American and International competition. This approach has allowed us to create the best baseball development program in the country. We do this by having the best facilities, with the best equipment, the best coaching and the best access to opportunities. Our focus is on developing student athletes who excel both on and off the field. We subscribe to a winning culture that promotes growth in sports and life, ensuring our players are prepared for future opportunities.
The 6 Big Reasons Why Players Work With Our Program Vs. Any
1. We Are the Program That Puts Kids First
The biggest downfall of other leagues out there is that they have lost the reason about what is important and what matters to the players. Other leagues spend their time trying to control other players and programs by creating rules that don't benefit the kids. They spend time dictating what teams can and can't do, and are focused on charging kids as much money as they can, none of which has any benefit for the kids. While other leagues are interested in putting the decision makers of the league first, our program puts the kids first by providing the best facilities and the best equipment with the best competition and best resources that the players need to perform at their highest level.
There are many leagues and associations that try and retain players by instituting "no release" policies and by forcing players to remain on teams because of policy not players choices. While these leagues and associations are busy trying to control kids, we are able to retain and attract the best talent because we offer the best program. If other leagues and associations spent time building great programs instead of great restrictive policies the players would never want to leave and would want to come from many other sub par programs. Our program operates as a true development program with the end goal in mind which is to provide the opportunity for our players to become collegiate and professional baseball players as well as providing them with the tools necessary to be successful in life well after their baseball careers are over. We are able to do this because 100% of all of the funds go towards players development and experiences while other leagues take excessive league fees that go to line the pockets of league owners instead of being used to help the kids. Our league and teams operate without any league fee overhead whatsoever which means 100% of the fees go to making the players better.
2. We Are The Program With The Facilities, Technology and Equipment
While many other leagues talk about plans to create facilities in order to lure players, we actually have the facilities. Other programs have little to no technology and sub par equipment at best.
1. We own our own turf field and are the only baseball program in the country that has this. We aren't aware of any other team that owns their own field let alone a turf field
2. Many other teams and programs don't have any training facilities and those that do have a temporary lease that results in being kicked out when the owner repurposes the land. We own multiple facilities including the real estate the facility operates in. We own the facility on the same property as the field which means we can provided a true MLB experience by training and then playing at the same time in the same location. If we experience inclement weather we simply move inside and continue playing. We own facilities in Durham Region, Niagara Region and Aruba.
3. We own a Mobile Baseball Training Facility that travels with our team and includes, batting cages, pitching mounds, pitching machines, hitting and throwing training equipment and our own field maintenance equipment and crew.
4. We have the best technology available in the industry while other programs have to see the technology on you tube videos. We have our own plyo walls, hitting tunnels, hack attack pitching machine, professional fitness room and biomechanics lab. We have equipped all of our facilities and fields with trackman systems that measure launch angles, exit velocity, pitchers velocity and spin rate, running speed and every other MLB technical spec. This data is directly linked to MLB Central Scouting and the NCAA coaches and recruiters through the Synergy video systems. Scouts from anywhere in the world can click on a statistical notification and tune into a live stream of the play and game.
3. We Are the Program With The Coaches
Our Program has full-time elite level coaching with proven track records of player development resulting in professional and collegiate baseball player placement. Our coaches continually challenge the players to be the best versions of themselves both on and off the field. Using player development as the lens for which all decisions and plans are made, our players gain the confidence to compete and succeed in any situation that presents itself.
Many other programs have very few coaches for large amounts of players resulting in very little individual instructional development time. Many player to coach ratios are 16:1 or worse in other programs. Our Program has a 3:1 player to coaching ratio in addition to highly specialized coordinators such as pitching coordinator, hitting coordinator, infield coordinator, catching coordinator, outfield coordinator, baserunning coordinator, strength and conditioning coordinator education coordinator, college placement coordinator, and MLB scouting coordinator.
4. We Are The Program With The Opportunities and Scouting
While other programs pride themselves on traveling hours playing sub par competition within the province in overpriced low talent leagues, we recognize that the best results for our kids come from playing the best competition regardless of geographical boundaries. We have secured games and tournaments in the best baseball locations in the world against the highest level of international competition.
While other leagues hope to attract the attention of the odd scout here and there, our entire program is a scouting program with the audience of all 30 MLB teams and the NCAA through our affiliation with The Future Stars Program. Our games and tournaments occur at scouting events where the scouts come together for the purpose of watching our players.
Our program already has the captive audience of MLB and NCAA scouts because they all subscribe to our data and technology on our players. We also attend many MLB and NCAA scouting combines that are organized specifically for our players to be showcased. Other programs and players have to fight to apply and get invited to some combines while we organize and run the scouting combines for the scouts and include our players automatically.
While others hope to attract a scout, the president of our program literally wrote the book on scouting and player development. Jeremy Booth the president of future stars has over 20 years of MLB and NCAA scouting experience and authored the internationally acclaimed book "Inside The Mind of a Scout: What Every Parent Wishes They Knew About The Major League Scouting Process"
5. We Are The Program With The Winning Culture
Other programs because they don't own their own facilities and fields have to rush to the field or facility in time to play and have to rush out after their time is over to let the next team use the field or facility. This results in no time to build organizational culture. At our program we own all of our facilities and fields so it provides an atmosphere for players to have a true Big League Experience by having their own locker, games room, weight room, training facility and players lounge areas that they can access 24/7/365. This fosters a positive environment with a culture of organizational excellence. Our players are actively involved in creating budgets, getting involved in travel and logistics, management and in creating an organizational and team charter and organizational governance. This ownership of facilities and fields provides both community service hour opportunities as well as employment opportunities for our players by running camps and training programs for other players outside of our program. We subscribe to the same principle of "Once a Stallion...Always a Stallion". The access to our facilities extends well beyond the players time as a Stallions player. Stallions are welcome back to the facility and fields for life.
We Are The Best Economic Choice
Not only are other programs inferior to our program....they also cost more. Since we don't charge league fees and have zero overhead and administrative costs, 100% of the funds go to the players development and experiences. In addition to not having the overhead that other leagues charge for, we also have a very strong network of very significant financial backers ensuring the long term sustainability of the program. Our one of a kind "Net Zero Cost Player Program" allows players to take advantage of sponsorship and fundraising programs made available to every player in order to play without it costing anything.
